8th Worldwide Distilled Spirits Conference: Edinburgh, May 9 – 11 2023

The Scottish Section of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling invites you to be part of this marvellous, in person, event in Edinburgh. Over the past 40 years, the conference and its community has grown to become the world’s leading collective of scientific practitioners dedicated to the distilled spirits business bringing leading edge, practical science that allows our industry to thrive.

This conference is a celebration of the bonds that exist within our industry and an opportunity to reconnect with each other, rediscover a passion for learning and build new partnerships to deliver the best our industry has to offer now and in the future.  For an industry with its very foundations in sociability and learning, it has been too long since we all came together to enjoy discussions and developments for and with our friends from the global distilled spirits community.

Call for abstracts open on 1st September and we would welcome all contributions across a wide range of categories.

We acknowledge the support we have enjoyed over the many years of this conference from our loyal sponsors and invite all interested parties, the prospectus will be available from 1st September.

The 3 day programme brings together academic, business, trade and subject matter experts to share knowledge and learn about the latest innovations across all aspects of distilling from around the world.  We will join together on technical tours, in discussions, panel debates, parallel break out sessions, and enjoy sharing of knowledge through poster sessions.   I have the great pleasure of being the Chair of the Conference alongside an amazing team of industry professionals and academics who will be sure to deliver a truly amazing experience for you all.  All you need to do is come along with an inquisitive mind and a thirst for knowledge that will help us all sustain our future reality across our industry.

As the programme takes shape, details can be viewed on this website where regular updates will be posted.

I look forward to seeing you all in May.
